Operations Manager - Restoration in Superior Restoration

Job Type: Full-Time

Desired Education Level: BA/BS Business Management

Experience: 5-7 years

  • Four-year degree in business management or a similar field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in general operation management or comparable experience.
  • Technical skills in insurance repair and restoration required.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years work experience in restoration services.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Position Summary

Under the direction of the Division General Manager, the Operations Manager directs and coordinates restoration functions at the division level, following guidelines established by the National Director of Restoration Services.

Essential Functions
  • Establishes, maintains, and supports company policies and procedures.
  • Makes hiring, performance, and disciplinary decisions; oversees division restoration operations to ensure maximum effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and safety. Monitors performance data, anticipates, prevents, and solves problems.
  • Directs, schedules, and monitors the work of restoration staff.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations promptly, including travel on short notice.
  • Provides training and guidance to restoration staff.
  • Ensures all required certifications are obtained and current.
  • Coordinates all administrative affairs of the restoration department.
  • Markets services to appropriate sources as directed by the General Manager.
  • Assesses work feasibility based on insurance coverage and damage nature.
  • Inspects job sites, establishes scope of work, confirms details with insured and adjuster, and arranges access.
  • Measures and notes for invoicing.
  • Decides on subcontractor needs, schedules work, and confirms with customers and the GM.
  • Recruits and qualifies subcontractors.
  • Builds relationships with referral sources and keeps up with corporate referral programs.
  • Follows or helps develop control systems.
  • Secures signed work authorizations before starting work.
  • Provides detailed scope of work and supporting documentation to the GM.
  • Communicates any scope changes in writing.
  • Addresses customer questions and concerns, resolving issues collaboratively.
  • Develops WIP reports for active projects.
  • Invoices various types of projects, including fire, water, mold, and asbestos.
  • Supports organizational teamwork and upholds corporate values.
  • Maintains standards for attendance and punctuality.
Other Duties
  • Maintains professional appearance and grooming.
  • Wears a proper company uniform daily.
  • Attends training and performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands

The position involves extensive walking, standing, stooping, and bending. Travel to job sites is required, and equipment handling may involve lifting weights around 50 pounds, including stairs and hallways. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
