ABOUT THE POSITION

The Operations Accounting Manager acts as a liaison between our internal finance team and our customers' AP departments. This role manages daily customer billing activities, including onboarding, invoicing, and collections. As a team leader, you will grow the organization by maintaining our customer service standards and through effective accounting negotiations. This position ensures accurate cash flow and fosters long-term business relationships.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced team environment, with a strong sense of urgency, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Additional attributes include:

• Associate degree in finance, supply chain, or related business field; training/certification or equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
• At least 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or invoicing.
• Previous transportation industry experience is a plus.
• Strong relationship-building skills.

• Energetic, positive attitude.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel (including advanced formulas), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and flowcharting tools.

ABOUT THE ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Operations Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with production teams and customers, and be responsible for:

• Overseeing invoicing and collections for multiple accounts, serving as the primary interface between customer AP departments and ITS AR team.
• Ensuring smooth onboarding of new customers, assessing existing customer base, and addressing operational gaps.
• Maintaining data integrity and improving processes related to revenue and costs, including auditing, data entry, invoicing, collections, and payment application.
• Managing post-release change processes and exercising discretion in writing off balances.
• Collecting overdue amounts and negotiating fees in line with company strategies.
• Managing customer receivables to meet KPIs and financial targets.
• Limiting unbilled and overdue accounts, maximizing cash flow through timely invoicing and collections.
• Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for billing, tailored to customer requirements.
• Onboarding customers' financial setups for invoicing, payments, and credit standards.
• Monitoring aging reports and remittance activities to ensure positive outcomes.
• Collaborating with customers and operations teams to resolve issues related to accounts payable.
