Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: The staff psychologist is responsible for providing services to racially and culturally diverse students and the University community, by offering individual and group psychotherapy/counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. The generalist psychologist is skilled in fostering the mental health, academic progress and career development of University students through a variety of psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions. Clinical supervision and training of interns, externs, practicum students, and other trainees are expected of the psychologist in this position. Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. Successful completion of an APA accredited internship. Licensed to practice psychology in the State of Maryland (or license-eligible within 1 year from hire). EXAMPLES OF WORK: • Offers clinical assessment, individual and group psychotherapy or counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, crisis intervention, referrals, and case management. • Oversees or provides clinical supervision and training of interns, externs, practicum students, and other trainees. • Serve on Counseling Center committees and other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Standard office work Preferences: Licensed as a psychologist for more than two years. Experience working with diverse populations is preferred. Affiliation with national and regional professional organizations. Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the State of Maryland within 1 year from hire.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctoral degree from college or university. Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a practicing psychologist. Other: Licensed or licensed and eligible to practice psychology in the State of Maryland. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
