Job Purpose: The oligotherapy data science leader role supports the Oligo Sciences team, focusing on the design, characterization, and early development of oligonucleotide therapies. The role involves co-developing data platforms and translating scientific needs into methods, models, and capabilities across GSK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement target tractability systems for oligo-guided mechanisms such as RNA degradation/interference, splicing modulation, and RNA editing.
• Develop models for target engagement combining sequence, structure, and chemistry data to guide assay design for screening and optimization.
• Collaborate with experts across genetics, bioinformatics, structural biology, AI, and digital tech to build datasets, tools, and infrastructure for oligo development.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

• PhD in computational life sciences with 1+ years of related experience, with first or co-authorships.
• 4+ years of industry experience or postdoc plus 2 years industry, demonstrated through publications, patents, talks, or awards.
• 2+ years experience with genomic data infrastructure (e.g., ENCODE, TCGA, GTEx).
• 2+ years experience with cheminformatics and structural modeling validated by qSAR assays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong communication and leadership skills, cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Experience with RNA target identification, high-throughput screening, data pipelines, and RNA biology/chemistry.
• Expertise in statistical learning, predictive modeling, and programming in Python/R/Julia/C++/Java/Rust.
• Knowledge of Bayesian stats, ML/DL, genetic mutations impact on RNA, and structural techniques like NMR, CryoEM.
