SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Admissions will gain hands-on experience in all facets of the university admissions process. This role is designed to provide professional development and foster specialized interests in enrollment management. The GA will contribute to recruitment, data analysis, communications, event planning, and CRM operations. Through active participation in daily office operations and strategic initiatives, the GA will support the university's mission and enrollment goals while exploring their own passions within higher education. The Graduate Assistant will have access to sensitive student information and is expected to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with prospective student engagement, including:
    • Assist students in successfully navigating the admission process
    • Communicate with prospective and admitted students via email, text, and phone
    • Attend college fairs and high school visits as needed
    • Meet face-to-face with candidates and conduct informational tours
    • Assist with outreach to special populations such as senior audit, dual credit, and co-enroll students.
    • Utilize the CRM software to maintain accurate documentation of student correspondence
  • Assist in planning and executing of recruitment and yield events, including:
    • Schreiner Saturdays/Admitted Student Days
    • Info Sessions
    • Campus Tour Meetings
  • Collaborate with recruitment team to develop and implement outreach strategies targeting prospective
  • Analyze recruitment data and generate basic reports on trends and outcomes
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and any development sessions
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and institutional policies, the Graduate Assistant must not disclose any personal, academic, or financial information pertaining to prospective or current students without appropriate authorization.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned in support of the Admissions Office and graduate learning outcomes
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Schreiner University
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in higher education, student affairs, or enrollment management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with public speaking and interacting with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) is required
  • Experience with CRM platforms is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish, preferred but not required
  • Ability to work weekends and evening hours to meet job requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license, related insurance, and a good driving record
