About the Role You will be recognized as an influential leader contributing to the strategic direction of an office. Collaborate with Office Practice Leader (OPL), Office Business Practice Leader (BPL), and other firm leaders to develop and implement key initiatives that advance an innovative engineering practice aligned with the firm's strategic plan. Responsibilities Discipline and Practice Leadership Focus on integrated design benefits, promote cross-disciplinary collaboration, and generate innovative solutions to differentiate CannonDesign and address client challenges. Implement the firm-wide business plan in the Chicago office, engaging office and market leaders, and driving collaboration to meet design, process, innovation, and profit goals. Ensure adherence to design standards, promote industry best practices, and enhance the firm's visibility and reputation. Promote the engineering practice externally through articles, speaking engagements, and participation in professional societies. Develop and execute marketing outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing and Communication department. Lead resolution of discipline-specific issues, engage in conflict resolution, and serve as a Client Leader when appropriate, aiming to exceed $1.0M in net signed fees annually. Expand the engineering practice beyond traditional A/E services. Staff Management and Development Lead by example, mentor emerging professionals, and foster an environment of leadership, integrity, and collaboration. Collaborate with Office Engineering Leaders (OELs) and Office Discipline Leaders (ODLs) on staffing, skills assessment, recruitment, and professional development. Minimum Requirements At least 15 years of relevant experience. Current PE license in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or SE in the United States. Broad knowledge of engineering building systems and sustainable design. Strong communication, organization, multi-tasking, and presentation skills. Exceptional leadership abilities in client and team management. Willingness to travel as needed. Additional Information The salary range for this position in Chicago, IL is $159,439 to $200,100 annually, with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
