OFFICE ASSISTANT TO FINANCE City of Ottawa

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly organized and dedicated individual to join our team as the Office Assistant to Finance.

This appointed, full-time salaried position supports the City's financial operations and reports directly to the Finance Department. The role requires professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the front reception desk while answering & directing incoming calls.
  • Support various finance-related tasks and clerical duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Occasionally work evenings, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned based on management needs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous administrative or finance-related experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be detail-oriented and proficient in time management.
  • Must reside within five (5) miles of the City of Ottawa within 15 months of hire
