    The Position

    Under general supervision, the Office Assistant II performs detailed clerical and operational support for Orientation/Assessment and Priority Enrollment programs. Public contact is extensive, involving College and District staff, faculty, students, vendors, and regulatory agencies for the purpose of exchanging policy and procedural information.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Exchanges information with college staff and others regarding department services.
    • Screens calls, visitors, and electronic inquiries.
    • Sets up and tracks budget expenditures and files.
    • Attends meetings to obtain and provide current information.
    • Uses a database and computer software to maintain a variety of data and files.
    • Composes and prepares correspondence and other materials.
    • Schedules and proctors student placement tests.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Graduation from high school and college courses in business administration or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Successful general clerical experience of increasing responsibility.
    • Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of diverse backgrounds.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of office organizational procedures.
    • Skill in multi-tasking and workload prioritizing.
    • Skill in use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a customer service team.
    Physical Requirements

    This classification requires data comparison and interpretation; work under deadline pressure; multi-tasking; attention to detail; manual dexterity; and flexibility.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. The District pays a portion of monthly medical plan premiums and all dental and vision plan premiums for employees and eligible dependents.
