The Southwestern Commission is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to serve as Office Administrator and Clerk to the Board. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining official records, and supporting both staff and elected officials across the region. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, personable, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to excellent internal and external service. The Office Administrator is often the first point of contact for guests and partners, and helps set the tone for a positive and welcoming workplace culture.
Created in 1965, the Southwestern Commission is a regional Council of Government serving the seven westernmost counties of North Carolina, the 17 municipalities therein, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Our mission is to improve the quality of life by assisting local governments in reaching their goals. We do this through our departments: Area Agency on Aging, Community and Economic Development, Mountain West Partnership, and Workforce Development. Minimum Qualifications:
The salary range for this position is $43,000 to $66,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position is open until filled.
