Insurance Authorization Specialist

Garden City, NY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm

FlexStaff is seeking a full-time Insurance Authorization Specialist for our client, in Graden City, NY,

Responsibilities:

  • Review and obtain insurance authorizations

  • Verify patient eligibility and coverage details with insurance providers

  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve any authorization issues or discrepancies that arise.

  • Maintain accurate records

  • Calculate the patient's expected payment at time of service

  • Coordinate the submission of appeals for denied authorizations and provide necessary documentation as required.

  • Assist with front desk duties and patient intake as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.

  • Familiarity with insurance policies, guidelines, and pre-authorization requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The salary range for this position is $25-$25/hour
