Duties:
Assessment : Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation, interviews, and standardized tests.
Treatment Planning : Develop personalized therapy plans based on individual needs, goals, and abilities.
Therapy Sessions : Guide patients through exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques that improve motor skills, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.
Equipment Recommendations : Suggest adaptive tools, assistive devices, or modifications to the home or workplace to facilitate daily tasks.
Collaboration : Work closely with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, physical therapists, speech therapists) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Patient Education : Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve independence, safety, and well-being.
Progress Monitoring : Track patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document improvements or setbacks.
Support : Provide emotional and mental health support to help patients cope with the impact of their condition on daily life.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-year previous working experience as a Occupational Therapist
Ability to build rapport with patients
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Familiarity with medical terminology
CPR card issued by the American Heart Association
Must have up to date certification in the state of IL
