Responds to physicians treatment orders/ prescriptions in a timely fashion. Performs a thorough patient evaluation and assesses the needs of the patient. Develops an appropriate and individualized plan of care for each patient and communicates with pt. and family. Establishes realistic short and long term goals in conjunction with the patient. Goals are measurable. Progresses patients appropriately to achieve the highest potential level of function by discharge. Requirements: Education: Minimum Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy. New York State license and registration or valid temporary license. BLS Certification Skills: Occupational therapist must be able to evaluate and provide treatment interventions to patients with diagnoses ranging from simple orthopedic conditions to more complex neurological conditions. Must be able to work in a fast paced department.
