Position Type: Pupil Personnel Services/Occupational Therapist Date Posted: 5/2/2025 Location: District-Wide Occupational Therapist 2025-2026 District-Wide SUMMARY Provide direct occupational therapy services for the students in Eastchester UFSD school district. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate Occupational Therapy needs
  • Work closely with building staff
  • In-service staff on implementation of protocols, written programs, transfers, adaptive equipment, back safety, etc., as needed
  • Monitor program needs and provide classroom consultation as necessary
  • Assess program needs for, and monitor the condition of adapted equipment (seating, positioning, toileting, transfers, ADL, etc.); also, order equipment as needed
  • Use established intra- and inter- district channels of communication
  • Communicate with families as needed
  • Communicate with vendors, clinics, therapists, and doctors, as needed
  • Read, write, analyze and interpret O.T.related reports; create and monitor IEP goals
  • Document work as follows per district protocols

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Passing the exam of the National Board for Certification in O.T. (NBCOT) and professional licensure by the New York State Educational Department/ Office of the Professions
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job to the best of their ability, the candidate for this position must do the following: 1. Perform all tasks with the utmost proficiency according to optimal standards of care. 2. Use utmost sensitivity in all contacts regarding consumers and their families. 3. Maintain the utmost professionalism when contacting other professionals and during all meetings.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to employees' questions.
  • Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must have the ability to transfer individuals independently, with a mechanical lift, or with the assistance of another staff person. Prerequisites: In order to be considered, candidates must hold the civil service title of Occupational Therapist or be reachable on the corresponding list of eligibles for appointment by the Westchester County Department of Human Resources. Employment Terms:
  • 10 month, full time probationary position
  • Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,514 - $101,587, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Internal transfers will maintain their step and salary placement.
