Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee, including state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. BlueOval SK, our joint venture with SK On, will leverage Ford's automotive expertise and SK On's EV battery knowledge.

The Occupational Safety and Risk Manager position at Kentucky Battery Park in Louisville offers a unique opportunity to be a key member of the startup team, launching the facility from the ground up.

The BlueOval SK Occupational Safety and Risk Manager is responsible for the performance of the Occupational Safety team, overseeing plant-wide safety processes, emergency response planning, and regulatory compliance. The role partners with Health & Safety leadership to address safety issues, collaborates across departments, and supervises documentation, investigations, inspections, and root cause analyses. The role requires expertise in safety policies, regulations, trend analysis, and providing guidance to prevent injuries and hazards. The manager has full authority over staffing, performance, discipline, pay, team development, and personnel actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety/Health Sciences, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years (with Master's) or 8 years (with Bachelor's) of experience in Occupational Safety or a related field.
• Licenses and Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (preferred), Certified Industrial Hygienist (preferred).
• Work requirements include frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds, walking, standing, and working in various conditions, including outdoor exposure and moderate noise levels.

Within 30 days of employment, you will become a secondee at BlueOval SK, remaining an employee of Ford. Terms will be communicated in advance. Employment is at-will.
