SALARY LEVEL

This position offers a salary within the GS-12 pay level ranging from $75,706.00 to $98,422.00, based on base pay, locality, and availability pay.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Function as an Occupational Health Nurse, collaborating with Medical Operations and Readiness Unit (MORU) physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure medical readiness among the workforce by administering Fitness for Duty (FFD) evaluations, compliance with medical mandates, and managing travel medicine and immunization programs.
  • Develop strategic health program goals aligned with MORU's directives, incorporating feedback from Field Office management.
  • Prepare various communications for MORU, including medical case reports, medical readiness statistics, financial expenditure reports, and Field Office policy statements.
  • Provide assessment and nursing care for work-related illnesses and injuries, and respond to medical emergencies on FBI property.
  • Oversee health services' medical exam activities, monitor medication levels, and manage monthly medical supply expenditures for reporting purposes.
  • Facilitate health promotion and education activities, covering areas like wellness, travel medicine, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Conduct Fitness for Duty evaluations and manage work restrictions, reviewing medical reports and complying with MORU guidelines.
  • Handle health administration duties, including contract medical facility performance oversight, financial expenditure reporting, and timely invoice processing.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

For the GS-12 level, candidates must possess a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, defined as follows:

  • Experience in nursing, showcasing a broad spectrum of professional skills, including considerable experience or training in occupational health nursing.
  • Familiarity with preventive medicine programs and services.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must meet the FBI's Employment Eligibility requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • A degree from a professional nursing program accredited by a legally designated state agency at the time of completion. Foreign education may qualify if comparable to U.S. standards.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and holding an active, unrestricted registered nurse license in a U.S. jurisdiction.

All educational degrees must be verified through submission of college transcripts.
