Occupational Health Coordinator

2nd shift

Pella, Iowa

SUMMARY

This position requires current NREMT certification and any State licensing requirement for Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic. In this role, you will provide medical assessment, intervention, and evaluation for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries. You'll manage on-going care of team members, conduct required screen/testing, provide preventative care, and resource support for medical related needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain EMT or Paramedic certifications and license.
  • Manage direct care of work related and non-work related injured or ill team members.
  • Provide case management of Workers' Compensation claims. Provide support for Workers' Compensation hearings as needed.
  • Conduct hearing tests.
  • Administer Tetanus & Hepatitis vaccination programs.
  • Facilitate physician job site visits and Functional Capacity Examinations.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate charting of all care provided into team member health records.
  • Conduct job assessments within manufacturing and office environments. Provide risk analysis and offer risk reduction solutions.
  • Responsible for OSHA compliance and recordkeeping within scope of responsibility.
  • Maintains Health and Safety Information systems. Input health information and treatment plans into appropriate HSI Systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

EMT or Paramedic: NREMT certification and any State licensing requirement to be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. Minimum of three years EMT or Paramedic experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to team members, managers, and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as non-prescription medication dosage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Outlook, Word, Excel, PeopleSoft, Fusion, Thrive.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current NREMT certification and any State required license/certificate required for EMT or Paramedic.
