Position Summary
As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional nursing care to our residents. You will oversee the daily nursing operations conducted by certified nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations alongside established facility policies and procedures.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily activities of certified nursing assistants and resident care associates, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
- Utilize a holistic nursing model to promote well-being and comprehensive care for residents.
- Ensure nursing staff comply with established policies and procedures.
- Participate in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers as necessary.
- Monitor changes in residents' conditions, notifying physicians and families while accurately documenting all observations.
- Manage the transcription of physician orders and ensure execution in a timely manner.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitoring residents for any adverse reactions.
- Conduct wound care treatments as directed by physicians and document observations consistently.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and transportation arrangements for residents as required.
- Provide leadership and support to nursing staff assigned to the unit.
- Deliver direct care that includes colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, and IV administration per established protocols.
- Conduct rounds to confirm resident needs are met and nursing staff fulfill their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Report incidents or unusual occurrences to community leadership.
- Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies, notifying the appropriate personnel when needs arise.
- Initiate and update resident care plans as necessary.
- Engage in the survey process during inspections.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to infection control practices and help improve any deficiencies observed.
- Report any suspicions of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of residents to supervisors or administrators.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the nursing team and facility operations.
- Adhere to all facility policies and stay updated on any changes.
Position Requirements
Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
Licenses/Certifications: Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state and maintain current CPR certification.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.
