Pay Rate/Salary: $48.23 – $79.57/hour (based on experience)

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager / Obstetrics Manager to lead the OB/PEDS unit. Reporting to the Chief Nurse Executive, this role is accountable for patient safety, quality of care, team leadership, and operational efficiency.

The Nurse Manager is expected to demonstrate leadership in communication, relationship-building, professionalism, and business skills, while fostering nursing excellence within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise OB/PEDS nursing staff, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in shared governance, policy formulation, and organizational decision-making.
• Evaluate appropriateness of care and ensure accountability for patient services.
• Coordinate nursing care with other disciplines to provide seamless healthcare services.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and scope of practice based on patient needs.
• Provide onboarding, mentorship, and fair performance evaluations for staff.
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental budgets.
• Promote evidence-based practice and encourage nursing research participation.
• Maintain open communication channels with staff and leadership.
• Transition to bedside care/leadership during crisis situations.

Skills / Licenses / Certifications Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or BS) – Required (Associate/diploma accepted with 5+ years' relevant experience; must complete BSN/BS within 3–5 years of hire).
• Recent OB and Peds experience – Required.
• Licensed RN in the State of Michigan – Required.
• BLS certification – Required.
• Management experience or strong leadership potential – Required.
• Master's Degree in Nursing or related field – Strongly preferred.
