This position serves as the Nursing Investigator for the Investigation Branch. As part of the InvestigationBranch (IB) for the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN), performs and coordinates complex investigative work inall areas related to nurse licensure; and performs other duties as assigned. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Conducts complex investigations of complaints on licensees.
- Receives and responds to complaints.
- Gathers,requests, and reviews records; and conducts interviews.
- Runs reports regarding criminal history, prescriptivepractices, disciplinary action in other states, and other pertinent information on licensees.
- Conducts meetings and interviews.
- Consults with appropriate persons regarding nurse practices and, or,violations of Kentucky Nursing laws.
- Communicates with KBN staff, licensees, complainants, employers, lawenforcement and other pertinent parties as necessary throughout the course of the investigative process.
- Responds to inquiries regarding the investigative process.
- Assists in the pre-complaint review process.
- Reviews evaluations, subpoenaed documents, employer reports,letters of response and other documentation and reports.
- Prepares written reports of investigations and presents information to Board Members and Board Committees.
- Participates and assists with administrative hearings when required.
- Works closely with Legal Services staffduring the administrative hearing process and testifies duringhearings.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing a related field
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Five years of professional experience in nursing, public and community health, or a related field.
