Nursing Care Assistant-GI - Reid Health : Job Details

Of Responsibilities Assist with the admission and discharge of patients. Report patient information and observation to RN promptly and appropriately. Process physician orders and records information with accuracy, speed, and proficiency. Assist nursing staff in both inpatient and outpatient pre-op, post-op, PACU, and bays as needed. Assist with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals. Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs, height, and weight; testing urine and recording intake and output information. Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to Registered Nurse. Provide adjunct care by emptying drainage devices, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and applying restraints.
