Griffin Medical Oncology Center in Oneida. The center features 12 exam rooms and a 12-chair infusion floor, led by our experienced team, which includes one board-certified physician and two Nurse Practitioners. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can hit the ground running as this practice is positioned for growth. The role is Monday through Friday (40 hours), with consult-only call responsibilities for two weeks every eight weeks. Additional compensation is provided for on-call duties. The average number of patients per day is eight to eleven. Compensation:$115,000 to $145,000 per year based on experience Sign-on:Negotiable at time of hire. What You'll be Great At:
- Assessing and establishing a presumptive diagnosis and implementing treatment plans
- Making accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record (OncoEMR)
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and consults as appropriate, and prescribing appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence-based practice
- Prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications or therapies as appropriate
- Evaluating and reporting to the physician any circumstances or test results that present a significant risk to the patient's health or well-being
- Performing procedures within the scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner license.
- Communicating appropriate information to physicians, patients, PCP, and referring staff
- Instilling confidence in patients by acting as their advocate, providing safe, ethical care, and health education to the patient and family

QualificationsYour Essential Qualifications:
- Education:
- Masters of Science in Nursing
- License:
- NY Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority
- Experience
- A minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting (ICU/IM/ED/Hospitalist)or two years of nurse practitioner experience is preferred (Oncology experience preferred)
- Certification
- Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioners (AOCNP) are preferred.
