Nurse (Occupational Health) GS-0610-11 - Civilian Corps : Job Details

Provides nursing assessment, diagnosis and treatment, nursing care and screening of occupational injuries, illnesses, pre-placement, periodic and termination exams along with fitness for duty exams. Initiates lab, x-ray, or screening tests (spirometry, EKG, vision, audiogram) based on history, exposures, industrial hygiene/safety data, regulatory/legal requirements, and employee information on work practices of hazardous exposures. Works collaboratively with the providers, Audiology, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Technicians, etc., in the management of selected health problems. Participates in the quality assurance program, including peer review and review of medical records for completeness of occupational health data, ensuring records are maintained according to standards.
