NOTE: THIS IS A 10 MONTH TEMPORARY GRANT FUNDED POSITION. Position is from September 1st 2025-June 30th 2026. The Nurse Navigator plays a critical role in advancing the goals of the 2025-2026 HEET Grant by supporting the recruitment, retention, and success of nursing students-particularly incumbent workers and those from underrepresented populations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment tool that includes clear information on the GHC application process, available student support services (e.g., advising, TRIO, tutoring, counseling, and financial aid), and partner resources (e.g., union benefits and employer-sponsored education programs). (Goal #1)Once incumbent workers are recruited-with a focus on increasing diversity within the nursing program (Goal #3)-the Nurse Navigator will provide individualized guidance to students through weekly check-ins and proactive referrals to support services to promote academic success and retention (Goal #2).The Nurse Navigator will also be responsible for collecting, organizing, and managing key data, including but not limited to: number of incumbent workers enrolled, diversity metrics, at-risk indicators, and survey responses. This data will be used in collaboration with the Associate Dean and Simulation Coordinator to evaluate program effectiveness and progress toward grant goals at the end of the academic year (Goal #4).Grays Harbor College has an excellent benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, primary and supplemental retirement programs and long-term disability insurance. We strive to create a culturally relevant environment on campus and in the community by learning and practicing equity-mindedness and promoting faculty, staff, and student diversity.* Student Recruitment & Support:* Develop and distribute a recruitment tool containing application procedures, student resources, and partner organization information.* Actively recruit 3-5 incumbent Harbor Regional Health workers annually.* Guide students with the Grays Harbor College application process, advising, tutoring, counseling, and other various student services.* Data Management & Evaluation:* Collect, manage, and analyze data related to student enrollment, retention, demographics, and success metrics.* Collaborate with the Associate Dean and Simulation Coordinator to evaluate and report on program outcomes.* Assist in the development of a survey or other outcome measurement tools to track if goals met or not met, along with suggested improvements.* Simulation Support:* Assist in the planning, setup, and implementation of clinical simulations within the nursing program.* Work closely with the Simulation Coordinator to ensure simulations align with curriculum objectives and student learning outcomes.* Participate in simulation debriefing sessions and help monitor student performance.* Professional Development:* Work with nursing students to model professionalism and leadership traits.* Perform self-directed study skills, to prepare for CHSE (tutoring/remediation in simulation)* Obtain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification.* Engage in ongoing professional development in simulation best practices and student success strategies.25-26 HEET Grant Goals:* Recruit 3-5 incumbent workers annually from Harbor Regional Health to meet the nursing program's capacity of 35 students.* Retain full cohorts of 35 students in the nursing program each academic year.* Increase diversity in the nursing program by 3% annually.* Raise the percentage of graduates working in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties from 62% to 65%, as reported in the 6-month post-graduation survey.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Minimum Qualifications:* Master of Nursing (MN) degree with clinical teaching experience* Experience in simulation-based learning and familiarity with INACSL standards* Knowledge of and direct experience using student support services at Grays Harbor College* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in recruitment, student retention, data collection, analysis, and reporting* Working knowledge of FERPA regulations and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality* Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and ability to learn institutional software systems* Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamPreferred Qualifications:* Experience working at Harbor Regional Health* Familiarity with union contracts and benefits, particularly those relevant to incumbent worker pathways* Current or active pursuit of Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credentialIn addition to the GHC online Application you will need to submit the following materials.
