Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our clinical team. The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day nursing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining high-quality patient care, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate perioperative nursing staff, including pre-op, PACU, and intraoperative teams.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient surgical schedules and smooth patient flow.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership to optimize care delivery.
  • Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and coverage for all nursing areas.

Clinical & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure all patient care adheres to evidence-based standards, AAAHC requirements, CMS guidelines, and NYS Department of Health regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain infection control, safety, and quality improvement programs.
  • Oversee compliance with medication management, sterilization protocols, and surgical safety checklists.
  • Lead peer reviews, chart audits, and quality reporting initiatives.

Regulatory & Administrative

  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory and accreditation surveys.
  • Maintain staff competency documentation, annual skills assessments, and continuing education compliance.
  • Assist in developing and updating policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Manage supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current RN license in the State of New York.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of perioperative nursing experience in an ASC or hospital surgical setting.
  • At least 2 years of nursing leadership or charge nurse experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Preferred:

  • CNOR or CAPA certification.
  • Experience in orthopedic, neurosurgical, and pain management procedures.
  • Knowledge of AAAHC, CMS, and NYS DOH regulatory requirements.
