Expected Salary Ranges:

  • Associate Simulator Software Engineer: $74,700 to $83,000
  • Simulator Software Engineer: $102,600 to $114,000

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Nuclear Simulator Software Engineer will be responsible for creating and modifying simulation software logic and dynamic models used in the Main Control Room Simulator at a nuclear power plant. You will be integral in simulator software maintenance, minor plant modification adjustments, and enhancements. This role requires independent functioning and advising Constellation's Training Department on simulator technology.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in planning, designing, and managing simulator projects for the Clean Energy Center (CEC).
  • Create and update simulation software logic and dynamic models to fulfill business needs.
  • Engage in software configuration management tasks.
  • Identify technology solutions by analyzing technology trends and evaluating risk and benefits to meet business objectives.
  • Report risks and issues affecting projects.
  • Provide second-tier support as needed for other simulators within the fleet.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather information and deliver efficient, effective solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including emergency response and support activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science.
  • For Associate Level: Associate's degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • Maintain necessary access requirements and a favorable medical examination per job duties.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or nuclear engineering.
  • Experience in programming technologies and familiarity with engineering print reading.
  • Skills in teamwork, self-motivation, communication, problem-solving, and debugging.
