Job Summary and Description
This role involves leading technical activities independently, addressing complex problems with innovative thinking, and maintaining familiarity with progress and issues in assigned technical areas.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Work independently on technical activities without direct supervision.
- Handle highly specialized technical objectives, requiring creative problem-solving.
- Stay informed about advancements and challenges in assigned areas.
Additional Requirements
- Develop relationships with primary advisors in research areas.
- Assist EPRI sales staff in Member Services and International efforts.
- Communicate strategies and results clearly through various channels.
- Coordinate work activities across programs.
- Oversee project teams to meet technical and financial milestones.
- Organize activities to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.
- Support complex project planning and execution, including research report presentation.
- Manage small to medium projects, including budgets and resources.
- Influence engineering aspects of technical work within project teams.
- Engage with national and international technical networks.
- Lead proposal efforts and new promotional initiatives.
- Identify research or service opportunities aligned with EPRI's mission.
- Mentor junior staff.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 10-12 years of Nuclear Plant Electrical Systems experience preferred.
Ideal Experience
- Broad industry experience in maintenance, testing, design, or troubleshooting electrical components.
- Knowledge in emergency diesel generators, circuit breakers, batteries, electrical distribution, motors.
- Project management experience is beneficial.
- Electrical engineering degree preferred.
- Experience with EPRI projects or user groups is a plus.
Salary range: $135,000 - $150,000 USD annually, with potential incentives and benefits.
