ProSidian Seeks a Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant - GSSC [Full-Time [W-2] Senior Consultant] located: The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area to Provide services and support as a Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant (PR0177) at The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provides Nuclear Criticality Consulting Services for The Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Site, Assistant Manager for Safety and Quality (AMSQ), Nuclear Safety Division (NSD).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Provides Nuclear Criticality Safety Consulting for The Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Site, Assistant Manager for Safety and Quality (AMSQ), Nuclear Safety Division (NSD).
  • The Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant will be responsible for execution of the itemized work scope below:
  • Perform criticality safety consulting services related to One Hanford program needs, focusing on special activities, identified problem areas, and support any criticality safety related needs by direct observation and involvement in relevant activities as determined by the Technical Monitor.
  • Provide reviews of contractor reports and submittals to One Hanford procedures and DOE-STD-3009 and DOE-STD-3007.
  • Provide periodic oversight of criticality related operations conducted by One Hanford Projects to One Hanford procedures and DOE-STD- 3009 and DOE-STD-3007, as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation of Safety Evaluation Reports, or other approval documentation, associated with the above related activities.
  • Assist in performance of readiness and startup assessment activities.
  • Assist review of DSA safety management programs and evaluation of support documents.
  • Deliverables shall be accomplished in accordance with One Hanford procedures and directions provided by the technical monitor.
  • All work performed under this task order must be in compliance with the requirements set by the Quality Assurance Implementation Plan (DOE-PPD-QA-50552) and associated implementing procedures.
Qualifications

Desired Qualifications For A GSSC Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant (PR0177) | Full-Time [W-2] Candidates:

The Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.

Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The contractor shall ensure that The Nuclear Criticality Safety Consultant supporting this task possess the following qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or business management, or alternatively, an accredited high school certificate plus three (3) or more years of specialized experience in engineering, science, or business management, in addition to the requisite experience. MS/MA or PhD degree in a relevant field is considered to be 2 and 5 years of experience, respectively.
  • Experience consulting or contributing on complex projects, including providing strategic, management, technical, or business assistance to significant projects or programs in a senior capacity and/or as a consultant.
  • Specialized knowledge of criticality safety and implementing the ANSI/ANS-8 Standards.
  • Experience working at a senior level to improve major projects and programs.
  • Experience consulting on organizational, technical, or financial issues and assists in problem solving.
  • Successful experience in technical or management consulting roles and proven skills in developing plans that yield positive organizational improvements.
  • Working level knowledge of environmental compliance, safety and health, quality assurance, and nuclear safety related controls and requirements.
  • Working level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
  • Working level knowledge of DOE program and project management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • A knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and/or other MS Office tools.
  • Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a Facility Access Authorization (also referred to as an Employment Authorization ) by the USG's designated Security Office.
