Weitsman Recycling is seeking qualified Diesel Technicians at all levels to support our fleet maintenance operations in Owego, NY. Whether you're just starting out or bring years of diesel repair experience, we offer the structure, tools, and advancement opportunities to help you succeed. Available Openings:
- Level 1 Diesel Technician (Entry-Level)
- Level 2 Diesel Technician (Mid-Level)
- Level 3 Diesel Technician (Senior/Master Level)
Responsibilities by Level:Level 1 - Entry-Level
- Assist with basic preventive maintenance and inspections
- Perform oil changes, tire services, and brake checks
- Support senior technicians and learn advanced repair procedures
Level 2 - Intermediate
- Perform diagnostics and minor to moderate repairs
- Complete brake, exhaust, and suspension work independently
- Utilize OEM-specific diagnostic tools and service software
Level 3 - Advanced
- Lead complex diagnostics and repairs of engine, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Overhaul engines, transmissions, and major components
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure repair documentation accuracy
Qualifications:All Levels:
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Strong safety mindset and team-oriented approach
Level 1:
- 0-1 year of diesel repair experience or recent technical school graduate
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
Level 2:
- 2+ years of diesel maintenance experience
- Experience with diagnostic tools and service manuals
Level 3:
- 5+ years of experience in advanced diesel diagnostics and repair
- ASE certifications or OEM-specific training preferred
