Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical competencies of Business Group staff to meet client needs and market drivers.
- Assist with daily operations, project oversight, management reviews, financials, and driving profitability at the project level.
- Supervise key cross-sector leads to ensure groups provide critical value, whether by growth, delivery, or risk reduction.
- Lead development and training of staff in technical and business skills.
- Coordinate workload sharing with market sector leads and other Business Groups.
- Implement quality assurance activities and strive for continuous improvement.
- Oversee project QC reviews, including reviewer assignment.
- Lead activities for continuous improvement, including standards, procedures, and lessons learned.
- Participate in project reviews, manage claims and losses, and support revenue recognition meetings.
- Review hiring needs, requisitions, and offers as delegated.
- Participate in pursuit teaming, staffing, and fee development.
- Collaborate with sector leaders and project delivery leaders.
- Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution.
- Streamline and coordinate business processes with the Business Group Manager.
- Ensure implementation of quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate across operations, sectors, and delivery teams.
- Review and approve fee proposals as delegated.
- Support business development opportunities.
- Facilitate communication within all business groups.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years' experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the local market.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Professional, Architecture, Engineering).
- At least 10 years' experience.
- Professional or engineering registration and related technical experience.
- Experience leading diverse teams, committed to quality and improvement.
- Active participation in professional or industry associations.
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local managers.
- Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.
