This non-exempt position is responsible for assisting the Nordic & Trails Manager and Recreation Supervisor in the operation and management of the Frisco Nordic Center. This non-exempt position is responsible for opening and closing Frisco Nordic Center daily operations and enforcing policies and procedures. Delivers exceptional customer service through telephone and in-person interactions when assisting guests. This position uses recreation software to make lesson reservations, sell trail passes, and register guests for recreation programs. Also runs Nordic center café including food/beverage preparation, sales, cleanup and tracking inventory. This position is required to assist with Nordic operations, special events, and other Nordic Center activities. Coordinates and communicates with outdoor operations staff to ensure seamless, safe and effective Nordic Center operations. Must feel comfortable working in a busy, high-paced environment. Desired start date: 11/3/2025 & estimated end-of-season date: 4/12/2026 Typical operational work week of Thursday-Monday, Holidays, weekends, evenings are required. Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to all Nordic Center guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducting all transactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
- Responsible for opening procedures, closing procedures, and properly locking up Nordic Center when scheduled.
- Preparing and sending a daily report of operations and revenue comparisons to management when closing the office. Verifies all banks, reconciles tills and creates reports for accounting at close of each day. Also responsible for change orders and utilizing appropriate cash handling procedures to work with cash, checks and credit cards.
- Communicates in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and written when interacting with Town of Frisco Employees, citizens, customers and vendors.
- Work in a team-based environment supporting the Nordic Center, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
- Assists with training, disciplining, motivating, and evaluating Nordic Center staff.
- Assists guest with rentals and lessons.
- Assists in implementing and enforcing standard operating procedures
- Assist manager with merchandise and food / beverage selection, purchasing, and inventory control.
- Ensure the Nordic center facility indoor and outdoor is clean, well-maintained; items are well stocked, displayed, and presentable to guests throughout daily operations.
- Maintains current knowledge of cross country ski trends including technical and equipment trends.
- Assists in responding to inquiries, questions and/or comments in a timely.
- Establishes, follows and enforces safety practices, operating rules and regulations at all times. Conducts various analyses and inspections of assigned facilities to ensure safety expectations are met and practices followed.
- Develops and maintains a close working relationship with the Summit County Nordic Community.
- Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, stairs, equipment and other areas as needed.
- Tracks and follows budgetary guidelines appropriately.
- Establishes high standards of customer service, cleanliness, maintenance and professional service to customers, and enforces the same through equally high standards of employee conduct and performance.
- Assists with other areas within the Recreation Department in order to achieve Department goals, programs, events and objectives.
- Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
