Position Summary
The Non-Sterile Compounding Manager is responsible for overseeing non-sterile hazardous and non-hazardous compounding operations. He or she oversees staff performance, providing assistance and guidance to help employees improve their results and advance in their careers at Empower Pharmacy while guaranteeing schedule production adherence, optimum KPIs, and full compliance with company standards, current industry rules, guidelines, and regulations.
Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm
Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to maintain above-average attendance and punctuality (reliability).
- Responsible for supervising production and support technicians that prepare batches and compound drug products while meeting department quality, safety, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Monitors performance metrics for all dose forms.
- Generates routine and custom reports to identify opportunities for improvement and early performance deviation identification.
- Creates, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices related to the department to support safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
- Ensures employees and processes are in compliance with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (if applicable), USP standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Establishes & maintains cooperative cross-functional relationships with peers in Quality, Sterile Operations, EHs, and Supply Chain to meet plant objectives.
- Leads in the development & maintenance of a safe compounding environment.
- Runs operations to meet or exceed delivery performance objectives for products or projects.
- Completes in-process checks & verifications in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responsible for meeting performance expectations and regularly exceeds them.
- Develops technician training programs & ensures operator training is conducted and fully completed.
- Troubleshoots or resolves issues impeding daily/weekly deliverables; proactively demonstrates the ownership to achieve.
- Initiates documentation of violations and disciplinary action with operators as required.
- This position manages 1 or more employees.

Experience and Qualifications
- Requires at least bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, or engineering.
- Experience working Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 6S, Kaizen methodologies in the manufacturing industry preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Microsoft Excel Advance, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint are a must-have).
- Experience with writing SOPs, Work instructions, Checklists, and Standard Work.
- Familiarity with mentoring and or coaching subordinates to provide guidance to improve their performance and individual and collective goals achievement.
- 1+ years prior experience in the cGMP / FDA-regulated industry preferred.
- 3+ years prior experience in the non-sterile compounding environment required.
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Previous experience in similar leadership roles preferred.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Technician Trainee is required.
- Texas State license as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing is required.
- Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Black Green Certification is required.
- Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Black Belt Certification is preferred.
