Non Invasive Vascular Lab Technologist - United Healthcare : Job Details

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to perform vascular procedures as requested by referring physicians and to provide the necessary documentation each procedure requires.
• Participates in all Radiology Management System functions as they relate to patient procedures.
• Provides patient education as required.
• Participates in the activities associated with maintaining the laboratory accreditation status.
• Maintains effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists and other department customers to assure the proper scheduling of procedures.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Required:

• Associate degree in Applied Science in vascular technology or similar modality

• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, hemodynamics as well as color flow doppler principles.
• Registered or Registry eligible by the ARDMS or CCI as a registered vascular technologist (RVT).
• Staff who are Registry eligible are required to successfully pass the Registry exam achieving Active Registry Status within one year from the date of hire.

Preferred:

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

Work Environment

• Work is performed in the department, which consists of several rooms, these rooms are air conditioned as well as heated, area is occasionally subject to fumes. Delivery of services is through the use of sound waves and pressure monitoring to produce images for physician readings. Delivery of service may also be performed at various locations (OR, angio suite, etc.).
