Join Amazon Data Services, Inc. as a Night Shift Data Center Operations Lead, where you'll play a pivotal role in the seamless operation of AWS global infrastructure. Our team is the backbone of the cloud, ensuring our customers have uninterrupted access to our services. We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for technology and a knack for leadership to help elevate our Data Center Operations.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of our data centers, ensuring high availability and reliability to meet or exceed our defined service levels.
  • Leading a diverse team of data center professionals, prioritizing and assigning tasks to meet operational needs.
  • Developing career paths and training programs for staff, ensuring effective recruitment and on-boarding processes.
  • Managing hardware logistics and ensuring efficient queue management across operations.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert on all aspects of data center operations and driving innovation for process improvement.
  • Handling large-scale events and outages while acting as the call leader, responding promptly to challenges.
  • Maintaining operational KPIs and continuously striving to enhance customer experience.

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 PM to 5 AM, with the requirement of participating in an on-call rotation outside standard hours.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in IT.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a technical setting.
  • Experience in 24/7 operational environments, including participation in on-call duty.
  • Strong knowledge of networking or computer hardware.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration and detailed understanding of networking best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with system management tools in client/server environments.
  • Technical writing skills and prior experience in project management.
