No Position Purpose Individuals in the Network Technician role are responsible for the maintenance and operation of Dartmouth's campus network. This responsibility includes all wired and wireless components of the physical network on the Hanover campus in addition to equipment in remote locations. It extends to the configuration and maintenance of the performance and fault monitoring systems, and the maintenance and installation of the telephone system hardware. Network Technicians respond to incidents and problems, escalate to Network Engineers and vendors as warranted, and partner with other organizations within Dartmouth to implement point solutions. DescriptionNetwork Technician Information, Technology & Consulting (ITC) - Dartmouth College Onsite | Full-time | Hanover, NH Dartmouth's Information, Technology & Consulting division (ITC) is seeking a Network Technician to support the performance, reliability, and continuity of the college's wired and wireless network infrastructure. As a member of the Network Services team, the Network Technician plays a vital role in the daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of campus network systems. This includes hands-on support for hardware and software, resolving incidents, performing installations and upgrades, and collaborating with Network Engineers on larger projects. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated technician to contribute to a fast-paced environment while building skills in an evolving infrastructure landscape. What You'll Do
  • Respond to and troubleshoot network incidents and outages across campus and remote sites
  • Install and verify network connections, including hardware and cabling
  • Support scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and on-call coverage
  • Collaborate with engineers on new building networks and renovations
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and internal training
What You Bring
  • 0-3 years of experience supporting production networks
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following: routing/switching, wireless networks, or phone systems
  • A collaborative, curious mindset and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn tools like Ansible, Python, Cisco IOS, or Junos (preferred)
