Job Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Technician to join our IT Operations team. This role is ideal for individuals early in their IT careers who are passionate about networking technologies and eager to develop their skills in Cisco based infrastructure, Windows systems, and network automation. You will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of wired and wireless networks, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across the organization. . Foundational knowledge of VoIP systems and protocols is also essential. Key Responsibilities • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points. • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN and WLAN environments. • Assist in managing IP addressing, VLANs, and routing protocols. • Support Windows-based systems and network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, Active Directory). • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures. • Respond to service tickets and escalate complex issues as needed. • Participate in network upgrades, patching, and scheduled maintenance. • Collaborate with senior engineers on automation and scripting initiatives. • Assist in the configuration and support of VoIP systems including IP phones and call routing. • Troubleshoot basic VoIP issues such as call quality, jitter, and latency. Primary Functions • Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and requests. • Maintain physical network infrastructure including cabling and patch panels. • Perform routine network health checks and generate reports. • Assist with wireless site surveys and signal optimization. • Contribute to the development of scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks. • Stay current with emerging networking technologies and best practices. Experience and Qualifications • 1–3 years of experience in IT support or networking roles (internships or co-op experience acceptable). • Good familiarity with Cisco IOS CLI commands • Understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and routing. • Exposure to Windows Server environments and basic system administration. • Basic Windows and Linux CLI commands. • Basic understanding of VoIP technologies and protocols such as SIP and RTP. • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. • Interest in learning scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
