Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with network routing protocols, design, troubleshooting, and working with network equipment providers.
  • Experience in Security, Network Security Architecture, Security Assessment, Security Controls, Enterprise Networking and Security, or related domains.
  • Experience in planning and designing networks, including multiple sites and products.
  • Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience embedding security into network design and architectural patterns with reusable components to scale security.
  • Experience developing and implementing security policies, standards, and controls across enterprise networks.
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs to improve security outcomes in large organizations.
  • Experience in Security Engineering, Vulnerability Management, Threat Modeling, automation, and organization-wide security programs.
  • Experience in domains such as Network Enterprise Architecture, Identity and Access Management, Cloud Security, or Infrastructure Security.
  • About the role:

    Google's Network Engineering team ensures the reliability and scalability of our global network, directly impacting the user experience by designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure. The role involves innovating with evolving technologies to keep our network robust and secure, supporting Google's suite of products and services.

    Salary range:

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education. Specifics will be discussed during hiring.

    Additional responsibilities:

  • Lead organizational programs and foster cross-functional collaboration for impactful outcomes.
  • Develop security frameworks, policies, standards, and baselines to improve security and reduce risks.
  • Conduct threat modeling and security assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Lead security initiatives from conception to execution, defining roadmaps and milestones.
  • Develop and recommend security solutions for network and software technologies, communicating risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
