Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Project Manager to oversee field operations and provide critical reporting in support of Verizon's network transformation initiatives across Upstate NY. This role will focus on monitoring engineering and operations activities, ensuring alignment with network modernization goals, and delivering progress updates to leadership. The successful candidate will serve as the bridge between field operations, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Analyze network architecture, system relationships, and end-to-end designs to support network simplification and modernization.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Network Planning teams to drive proper designs and support implementation.
- Monitor and track monthly Engineering and Operations progress to achieve targets for Open for Sales, Copper Migration, and Switch Shutdown.
- Develop and deliver dashboards and reports to share progress with leaders and key stakeholders.
- Oversee onsite field activities to ensure operational execution and adherence to project timelines.
Must-Have Skills
- Network Project Management (5+ years): Proven experience managing large-scale network infrastructure or telecommunications projects with cross-functional teams.
- Field Operations Oversight (5+ years): Strong background in monitoring and reporting on field-based engineering or construction activities.
- Data Reporting & Dashboards (3+ years): Proficiency in creating dashboards, progress reports, and executive-level updates using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Verizon systems and legacy-to-modern network transitions.
- Familiarity with copper-to-fiber migration projects and switch shutdown initiatives.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
Education/Certifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Desired: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management training.
