Network Engineer with Security Clearance - Encode : Job Details

Job Title: Network Engineer (Hybrid)Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance or higherWork Location: Hybrid – Onsite 1-2 days per week (Final schedule TBD by hiring manager) Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's intranet, extranet, LAN, and WAN networks, as well as supporting voice and data services. This role also involves network architecture planning, disaster recovery operations, and evaluating emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities:Design, configure, and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software, and communication links.Maintain day-to-day network operations and perform disaster recovery and data backup procedures as needed.Provide detailed schematics and documentation for network architecture and operations.Offer guidance for technology selection, deployment strategies, and long-term capacity planning.Conduct testing and evaluations of network systems and performance.Maintain technical expertise across all areas of interconnectivity—routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers.Stay current on emerging technologies to enhance network capabilities.Support potential cloud integration and implement machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. Must-Have Qualifications:Active Secret Clearance (or higher) is required.At least 9 years of experience implementing network solutions.8+ years of experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP protocols.6+ years working with Juniper routing and switching.6+ years of experience with Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work analytically in a problem-solving environment. Nice-to-Have Skills:Familiarity with F5 application delivery controllers.Basic scripting experience (e.g., Python, Ansible, TCL, Bash).Juniper or Palo Alto certifications. Work Environment:Hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week required onsite.Candidate must be local and available to be onsite as needed starting Day 1.
