We are partnered with a defense innovator delivering mission-critical systems from concept through development, integration, and long-term operations. With offices in just outside Dallas, TX, they support highly sensitive national security programs with cutting-edge solutions.

Our client is seeking a Cisco-focused Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure across mission-critical environments. You will architect LAN/WAN solutions, troubleshoot complex networking issues, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

You would work across various highly sensitive internal programs.

Required Skills:

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, VPN appliances, and VPNs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco technologies (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GRE tunnels, IPSec, SSL VPN, QoS, VLAN, MPLS, STP, trunking, etc.).
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, services, and tools (Radius, DNS, NTP, SYSLOG, SSH, TCP/IP subnetting).
  • Develop documentation including network diagrams (Visio) and configuration records.
  • Perform assessments, testing, and validation of network environments to ensure functionality, security, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and carriers for telecom services, POP, circuits, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and network automation (e.g., scripting, Python).
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a TS/SI/TK clearance.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, proxies, and load balancers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience modernizing and optimizing enterprise networks in secure environments.
