Job Description
We are currently seeking a Full Time Tier I/II Network Voice/Field Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
As a Level I/II Network Voice / Field Engineer, you will be part of a field team dedicated to resolving customer issues in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner while focusing on positive customer experiences.
Responsibilities:- Provide phone, remote, and onsite support and remediation for network device issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer system problems across a broad range of technologies, including network devices, peripheral devices, applications, enterprise systems, hardware, and software issues
- Telephony/VOIP experience
- Provide remote and onsite installations of new software and upgrades
- Install service packs and security updates remotely and onsite
- Provide help desk support, including analyzing and resolving end-user issues
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP; use show commands to research issues
- Rack and stack Cisco switches (2900, 3700, 3600, 3800, 4500, 6500 series)
- Upgrade firmware on Cisco switches using TFTP, FTP, or thumb drives
- Configure Cisco switches via command line through console and SSH
- Work with power distribution units (PDUs) and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), including battery replacements and network connections
- Manage network console servers
- Understand DNS and DHCP concepts, including host records, reverse look-up zones, CNAMEs, and static IP addresses
Skills & Experience:- 3+ years' experience in network engineering
- Bachelor's degree
- CCNA, A+, and Network+ certifications are strongly recommended
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of data center environments
- Knowledge of LAN, proxy servers, network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, IOS, OSPF, Layer 2 & 3, IP addressing, IPSec VPN, WLAN, LAN, WAN, and secure routing solutions
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting NAC for wired and wireless access
- Experience with Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (a plus)
- Ability to troubleshoot connection issues and use tools like fiber checkers and cable testers
