Network Administrator - Prairie Farms Dairy : Job Details

Network AdministratorSummary Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of secure network continuity. Works closely with others within and outside of the team to develop processes, procedures, and solutions. Implements solutions consistent with the organization's designed architecture plan and roadmaps. Supervisory: No Network Discipline Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and maintains approved network hardware and software components.
• Maintains structured cabling systems, telecom systems, WAN, LAN, Cellular, Wireless Networks and local Internet, remote access, VPNs, and connectivity protocols.
• Implements predetermined telecom/network software or hardware changes.
• Establishes WAN, LAN, device profiles, device environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
• Provides support for connectivity or related network/communication issues for the user community.
• Monitors installed network and telecom equipment.
• Assists in capacity planning for growth and system upgrades.
• Travels to company locations as needed for projects and process review. 10-30% travel depending on projects.
• Additional support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 2-5 years of network administration.
• Possess a strong work ethic, with the desire to learn new technologies and processes.
• Knowledge of network routing protocols IPSec, BGP, RIP, SDWAN, etc..
• Strong knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
• Industry standard, related certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of VMware virtualization or equivalent is plus.
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools. (PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience with Linux administration a plus.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Operations (Operational Technology) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Service Desk process development and IT operations best practices.
• Knowledge of AWS configuration and processes is a plus.
