Job Title : NERC Certified Senior System OperatorLocation: Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Great Falls, MTReports To: Manager, Network Operations Center (NOC)Full relocation assistance providedAbout the Role Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior System Operator to manage real-time operations of their Balancing Authority (BA), Generator Owner (GO), and Generator Operator (GOP) functions. This position is based in a CIP-compliant Network Operations Center (NOC) and plays a critical role in ensuring grid reliability, regulatory compliance, and economic efficiency across various markets, including WECC and AESO.Key Responsibilities Operate BA, GO, and GOP functions in compliance with NERC, WECC, FERC, and AESO standards.Execute hourly resource strategies and real-time energy scheduling using SCADA and EMS tools.Coordinate and respond to system disturbances, outages, and emergencies with appropriate real-time actions.Submit next-day generation plans, manage outage scheduling, and provide oversight of third-party dispatch operations.Collaborate with trading groups, field personnel, and reliability entities to optimize asset performance and ensure compliance.Provide training to System Operators and support operational and compliance documentation.Assist with the development and maintenance of NOC policies, procedures, and performance reporting.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Energy, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.At least 6 years of professional BA system operator experience with NERC certification, a combination of ten years BA and Transmission System Operator experience or a combination of twelve years relevant experience and/or education., with a valid NERC certification (Balancing Interchange or Reliability Coordinator level).Strong understanding of bulk electric system operations under normal, emergency, and restoration conditions.Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, PI Historian, generation forecasting tools, and compliance logging systems.Experience in at least one energy market: WECC, AESO, EIM, ERCOT, MISO, or PJM.Preferred Skills Excellent situational judgment and ability to manage time-sensitive emergency operations.Strong verbal and written communication, training, and coordination skills.Familiarity with renewable energy dispatch and grid integration challenges.Demonstrated leadership in compliance, procedure development, and incident reporting.Additional Requirements Must maintain NERC certification with continuing education (minimum 60 hours every 3 years).Available for 12.5-hour shifts and rotating coverage (nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call).Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work at a computer for extended periods.Work in a CIP-compliant, limited-access control room environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
