Job Description :
Genesis Technical is seeking a Naval Architect for an exciting on-site opportunity based out of Tampa, FL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, construction, and maintenance of marine vessels and offshore structures. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, shipbuilders, and regulatory bodies to develop efficient, innovative, and safe maritime solutions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new marine vessels, including commercial ships, yachts, and offshore structures.
  • Conduct stability, hydrodynamic, and structural analyses to optimize vessel performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and shipbuilders to ensure seamless execution of designs.
  • Assess and improve existing vessel designs for efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize CAD and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD or ShipConstructor) for ship modeling and design validation.
  • Ensure all projects comply with international maritime regulations and classification society standards
  • Participate in sea trials, structural integrity assessments, and dry-docking procedures to verify vessel performance.
  • Identify and resolve design or construction-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, sustainability practices, and emerging maritime technologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in naval architecture, ship design, or marine engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrodynamics, stability, and structural mechanics in maritime applications.
  • Familiarity with classification society requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in offshore engineering, yacht design, or defense/military vessel construction.
  • Hands-on experience with shipyard operations, dry-docking, or retrofitting projects.
