Job Description :

Bristol Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified Munitions Response Quality Control Geophysicist in our Golden, CO; Wilmington, NC; or Marysville, WA location. This position can also be remote. This role involves conducting duties as a Quality Control (QC) Geophysicist within a munitions response geophysical program, utilizing digital geophysical technology and advanced geophysical classification (AGC).

The individual will lead geophysical planning, including staffing, scope development, logistical planning, client interface, and reporting. They should have managerial, leadership, organizational, analytical, technical, and decision-making skills, with a deep understanding of geophysical mapping techniques and current industry technologies.

Major Responsibilities
  • Support obtaining and maintaining Department of Defense Advanced Geophysical Classification Accreditation Program (DAGCAP) certification.
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures related to geophysical operations.
  • Standardize data management, processing, analysis, storage, and reporting procedures.
  • Participate in site walks, project meetings, and audits to support project teams.
  • Ensure personnel understand their roles and responsibilities during project execution.
  • Assist in proposal development, including effort estimation and technical approach.
  • Review contract documents and explain plans to staff.
  • Coordinate with project teams to meet USACE QA requirements.
  • Lead geophysical QC during fieldwork.
  • Design and complete Data Usability Assessments.
  • Ensure project quality standards and Bristol Code Zero compliance.
  • Review project reports and documentation.
  • Support DoD programs and meet performance objectives.
  • Contribute to report quality and delivery.
  • Maintain professional, technical, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Travel for meetings and field projects as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of DERP, CERCLA, MR-QAPP, AGC-QAPP, and related guidance documents.
  • Experience with AGC data processing using Geosoft UX-Analyze and other software.
  • Proficiency in AGC data validation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Experience managing GPS and geophysical data and using various geophysical technologies.
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Education

Bachelor's degree in geology, geophysics, or a related field, or equivalent experience with geophysical methods in munitions response.

Experience

At least 8 years of industry experience supporting DAGCAP certification, including 3 years in Advanced Geophysical Classification.

Special Requirements/Certifications

Master's Degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 10 years of industry experience supporting munitions response is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical workload, including lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Visual acuity for computer work and reading.
  • Activities include hiking, operating geophysical instruments, walking, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.
