Market Manager, Municipal & Government Sales
WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Market Manager, Municipal & Government Sales, who will be responsible for the development and implementation of the company's sales for regional municipal & government contract extensions, retention, and new business of municipal & government sales opportunities, to ensure growth, retention, and quality of regional municipal revenue. The person will prospect and manage relationships with regional municipal customers to ensure lasting and valuable relationships with strategic municipal partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
- Manage the company's existing customer portfolio with primary focus on the customer retention strategy (price/term, volume)
- Manage all customer and stakeholder relationships in your market area. Directly and or indirectly involved in all activities
- Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to refine regional municipal strategy and execute growth and retention opportunities in the market.
- Prospect, sell, and proactively manage regional municipal business relationships
- Negotiate pricing and contracts, including contract extensions, as appropriate. Ensure that all approved contract terms are met. Work closely with Legal team on contract approval and execution.
- Prepare and deliver RFP responses and bids.
- Conduct sales or community presentations.
- Attend bid conferences or industry trade shows as assigned. Participate in local or state industry associations and trade groups, as needed. Attends council and/or board meetings as necessary.
- Meet regularly with key decision-makers within assigned municipalities, state and federal agencies to enhance the company's position and continuously bring value-added services to the relationship.
- Continually ensure client expectations regarding quality service and documentation are being met. When needed, effectively recommend corrective actions and coordinate closure of corrective actions cross-functionally to meet municipal customer needs. Prepare and deliver responses to customer issues.
- Implement approved strategies and activities to increase customer satisfaction to ensure profitable client retention.
- Maintain an awareness of market dynamics and competitor activity in assigned region.
- Meet with operations management as appropriate to coordinate sales, surveys, and service efforts for assigned region. Must be politically astute in daily dealings with municipal customer book of business.
- Effectively lead efforts with Pricing, Post Collections, Collections, Operations, Communications and Government Relations, Environmental, and Legal functions on bids, pro forma development, proposals, contract or extension execution, relationship management, etc.
- Effectively collaborate with Sales Coordination to maintain all sales documentation (Pipeline, Sales Funnel, Client Profile, etc.) in Salesforce on a weekly basis.
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Municipal, sales, or other customer relationship management experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Waste or environmental services industry experience preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in sales or customer relationship management position, or in a government relations position, or in a waste industry role.
- Bachelor's degree.
