MST FAMILY THERAPISTDepartment: CounselingLocation: ChicagoAddress: 3445 N. Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60634Schedule: Schedule varies based on client need; some evening and weekend hours may be needed. This is a primarily community-based position with some in-office time.Salary: $55,000-58,000 - Based on experience and qualifications. Youth Outreach Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated people who want to empower youth and families to make lasting changes!Position OverviewThe MST Family Therapist works with families to create strength-based behavior change that will be sustained long after treatment ends. Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) is specifically designed to treat youth aged 11-17 and their caregivers to alleviate serious behavior issues such as aggression, poor academic performance, delinquency involvement, and problematic sexual behavior (with additional training). Therapists provided intensive (2-3 sessions per week) family therapy in the client's home, school, or other community locations. This program serves the entire Cook County area. Therapists carry small caseloads (4-6 families) so as to have sufficient time to dedicate to each family's needs.MST incorporates treatment interventions that are evidence-based and places a high premium on approaching each client/family as unique. Treatment progress is made through intensive interventions such as skill building, changing negative family interactions, and increasing social support. Therapists also work with collaterals such as teachers, DCFS, juvenile justice, and other systems that the youth is involved in to ensure continuity of services.Position Opportunities:Full training in the MST standard model and supplemental sexual behavior modelWeekly consultation with MST expert consultant regarding case issuesWeekly individual and group supervisionWritten feedback and professional development plans from the MST consulting expertOngoing booster trainings on a quarterly basisExcellent opportunity for new clinicians who are looking to develop their clinical skillsQuarterly staff appreciation outings and wellness events provided by agencyQualifications:Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage/Family Therapy required.
