Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for multiple Research Assistantship(s) (MSc/PhD) in PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in livestock systems at the University of Maine, located in Orono, ME. The Research Assistantship will involve conducting livestock experiments, collecting and analyzing animal samples, compiling research data, and assisting in the preparation of reports and manuscripts. The role also includes collaborating with faculty and team members on various research projects and maintaining lab equipment and inventory.
Qualifications
These positions offer competitive salaries ($ 30,000-$ 40,000) based on experience with full insurance coverage. Our research is fully equipped with the latest in animal nutrition (NIRS, IDEXX blood analysis) and toxicology equipment (UPLC), both in the lab and the field (livestock and forage equipment). Our campus has a brand new robotic dairy and is a leader in PFAS research. The MSc degree is in Animal Sciences and the PhD can be in either Food and Nutrition Sciences or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Any questions, please reach out to [email protected].
