TITLE: Brother 2 Brother (Stipend) POSTION TYPE: INST STIPEND AMOUNT: $3528.00 HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. One year experience leading or working in programs that serve and deal with subjects relevant to diverse student populations. 3. Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communication. 4. Skills in leadership, organization, problem solving, and human relations. 5. Demonstrated ability to have effective conversations with a group of students while navigating difficult topics. Desired: Currently involved in community organizations. BASIC FUNCTION: Brother to Brother sponsors will lead, develop, and inspire high achieving male students of color by coordinating and implementing operations, activities, and curriculum designed to increase the number of students who successfully complete middle school and graduate from both high school and college. In addition, sponsors, using district-developed curriculum and activities, will work to encourage students to make positive life choices, improve behavior, achieve academic success, and become leaders in their schools and communities. Finally, Brother to Brother sponsors embrace continuous improvement and learning through their commitment to attend a variety of training and professional development sessions as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide oversight for building-level chapters following district-approved curriculum and activities 2. Coordinate and facilitate workshops scheduled for students related to a variety of issues including academics, culture, social justice, etc. 3. Attend and supervise district, cultural, and academic field trips and/or events with community partners 4. Commit to meeting or exceeding all performance targets established by program leadership 5. Develop strong relationships and partnerships with diverse community members and organizations 6. Participate in mandatory training sessions or professional development activities as required 7. Meet with, monitor, and record student academic performance, attendance, grades, general behavior and conduct, and problems in or out of school on a weekly basis 8. Input curriculum into Canvas as directed 9. Hold regular meetings with students as a chapter as required by district-level administration (varies based on grade level) 10. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and the community regarding activities, expectations, achievements, and events of individual chapters and program 11. Attend meetings as directed by the district activity office as required 12. Monitor and record income and expenses for individual chapters 13. Submit reports (with student evidence as support) and activity checklists to building and district administration as required 14. Demonstrate the highest personal standards of honesty, integrity, flexibility, and responsibility in working with colleagues, administration, staff, students, and the community.
