Job Details

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, Also Referred To As MRI Technologists, Utilize Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanners To Capture Specific Images Ordered By A Physician To Aid In Patient Diagnosis. MRI Technologists Must Be Able To Closely Follow A Physician's Instructions, Prepare And Operate MRI Equipment, Position Patients Correctly, And Effectively Record The Requested Diagnostic Images.

A Caregiver In This Position Works Varying Shifts.

A Caregiver Who Excels In This Role Will:

• Prepare And Check Patients Prior To MRI Procedure.
• Acquire And Review Patient Questionnaire, Chart And Data/Requisition To Determine Contradiction Of Having MRI Examination.
• Verify And Validate The Patient Screening Safety Form.
• Perform MRI Procedures Required Per Protocol And Perform Daily QA.
• Perform Venipunctures.
• Educate Patients Regarding MRI Procedures, Equipment And Exams.
• Ensure Patients' Comfort And Safety During And After The Exam.
• Assist With Scheduling Patients.
• Administer Proper Contrast Related To Patient Having MRI Exam.
• Acquire, Archive, Transmit And Print Images Via PACS.
• Complete After-Hours Transmission Of Images And Appropriate Paperwork.
• Immediately Report Any Malfunctions, Observe Potential Equipment Dysfunctions And Report Problems Or Call For Service.
• Maintain Available Equipment Up-Time At The Highest Level For Patient Accessibility.
• Process Billing Via RIS.
• Potentially Rotate Through All Imaging Modalities, Sites, And/Or Locations.

Minimum Qualifications For The Ideal Future Caregiver Include:

• Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Radiologic Technology Or Graduate Of An Accredited Institution Per The Primary Pathway Of The ARRT.
• Registered Technologist Credentialed By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), Or R.T.(S)(ARRT), Or R.T.(T)(ARRT), In Good Standing.
• OR Registered Technologist Credentialed By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) In Good Standing Or Be A Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Through The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. ARDMS And NMTCB Are Primary Pathways.
• Certification In Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) Required Within One Year Of Hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Knowledge Of Cross-Sectional Anatomy And Related Pathologic Processes.

Preferred Qualifications For The Ideal Future Caregiver Include:

• One Year Of Experience As A General Radiologic Technologist Or Experience In Other Imaging Modalities.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires Standing And Walking For Extended Periods Of Time.
• Must Be Able To Lift Or Assist With Lifting Patients Of Varying Weight And Manipulate Equipment Daily.
• Requires Frequent Pushing And Pulling Of Equipment Up To 75 Pounds.
