About the Role

The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and approving mortgage applications for Conventional, FHA, NON-QM, and Jumbo loans. This role is crucial in ensuring that all loans meet company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation.
• Assess borrower creditworthiness and risk factors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Make informed decisions on loan approvals or denials.
• Communicate with loan officers and clients regarding underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of mortgage products and guidelines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automated underwriting systems.
• Familiarity with government loan programs.

Pay range and compensation package

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
